I need help with my Story

Hello...I'm newly sober (34 days) and want to write my story. Does anybody have an idea on how to get started?

Hi and congrats on 34 days!

First draft, write from your heart. Just put down whatever comes to mind. I've been writing a novel now for 8 years lol it doesn't take that long, I was procrastinating. If you plan to publish, try to keep it under 350 pages. Initially, I wrote over 900 lol, editing has been heaven (NOT )

You can do it, just write the first sentence. Start with the first paragraph. They say if you can write 3 pages a day, you should be able to complete it in six months. Good luck with your endeavor! I'm sure it will be fantastic!

I have been writing my novel for 10 years lol. I wish I wasn't such a time waster.

To the OP, just start. The first line is usually the hardest.

Three basic components to any addiction/recovery story:

1. What happened
2. What you were like
3. How you are recovering

Welcome to SR, Deandilly. There is a ton of great support and wisdom to be found here. Congrats on 34 days and I hope you'll become an active member here.
