Hi
Hi
I only just realized this is a USA based site but hopefully you'll be happy to have a Scotsman contribute.
I've had many health related problems over the years which have resulted in me being in a wheelchair now which has led me to drink more than ever before.
What I am hoping for from the site is just to see their may be a way from how I am feeling now to a better place
Cheers

Hi and welcome from the north of England, not so very far from you. Hope you find what you're looking for here, I've found it a great support. I can't always contribute cos I'm new to being sober, but reading all the experience of others works for me too, keeps me focussed on my goal.
Good luck xx

Hi livi, we have lots of members from everywhere. Have you any thoughts about how you could stop drinking? Like talking to your doctor, or maybe reading up as much as you can?
Livi, have you thought about joining a Class here at SR; here is the link to the Class of June, 2015:

The 24 Hour Recovery Connection thread is another great place to commit daily to sobriety and get to know some of the people here:

Welcome to SR Livi. As others have mentioned, the SR community is international and you are more than welcome to join. Hope you can find some solace in a community of those who understand addiction and find the resources you need to help you quit yourself.

Thanks to all the great responses and in response to FeelingGreat I have tried my doctors but haven't been happy with the response . They told me I would have a call from a special addiction team but that was months ago and I haven't heard anything. I realise there are a lot of people needing help so I thought I should look to forums like this to seek some guidance from people in similar situations
