What do you all think (today) is one of the best things about sobriety? For me it's positivity. I used to live my life so negatively. That has completely changed 100 percent. Positively is the essence of life!
The contentment. The positivity is huge too. I have a hard time being around negative people now. My parents tend to be glass half empty kind of people and I have had to cut down on time spent with them for now.
Freedom.
I am not shackled to anything any longer. Alcohol was the first to go. The 12 steps has, over time, granted me freedom from pretty much all other things that used to have power over me... cigarettes, sex, co-dependency, obsessive thinking, video games, etc. Being free is a great feeling.

I'm still early in, but lots of positives so far I can think of.
- I bounce right out of bed without issue, versus thinking, "is it really worth it?"
- I enjoy being able to walk the streets being calm and content in my own skin, versus rushing constantly wondering, "I wonder how drunk I look?"
- My black garbage bag of empties is now basically all water bottles.
- My house is always clean, and yard always taken care of.
- My mouth no longer tastes like a sewer.
I'll stop there...
