Embarrassed- checkin in
Embarrassed to say that Ive been drinking again. Not a ton, a rather normal amount most of the time, but I know where this path leads. Just embarrassed and disappointed in myself. Not sure what is coming next.
Do not be embarrassed just figure out where it went wrong and figure out how to get back on track
It's what you know to be a problem more than what others see or say. If it's a problem to you, then it's a problem. Don't be embarrassed. Took me a long time to figure things out and to them do something about it. I'm at the same crossroads with smoking. Knowing that I have to, need to, quit and wrapping my head around it before I'm finally ready.
Feeling embarrassed and disappointed is usual in the situation of relapsing, but use it to your advantage, rather than letting it keep you down. You don't have to deal with those negative feelings again.
I think the fact that you are on here shows that you are taking steps to try to stop again, it is not easy, I have been back and forth on this site for a few years. I am back on day 16 and really just taking it one day at a time. Don't be embarrassed, I think the majority of us have slipped back into that pattern, and whe we do all we can do is start again.
As Anna said, you can use the embarrassment and disappoint to your advantage, jryan. Use it to create and ensure a future of which you can be proud. The future is yours for the writing.
You can find lasting sobriety and recovery; go for it.
Welcome back.
Sorry to hear that you have been drinking again.
