Low Heartrate in early sobriety

Hi guys.

I have noticed my resting heart rate, each time I have gotten sober, is around 55. When I was drinking, it would shoot up into the 90's or above.

Fortunately, my neighbor is also my cardiologist and I texted her this morning in full disclosure. She told me unless I was feeling faint, not to worry about it. That was very comforting.

I am also on a meditation binge, meditating at least an hour a day if not more. I know it can reduce heart rate along with fish oil which I take.

Some times throughout the day it dips to 51 (I have a heart rate monitor on my smart phone).

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this in sobriety.

Thanks in advance.

I have a low resting heart rate, in the low 50s.

Well, except right now I've got quite a lot of caffeine on board.

I don't worry about it.

My resting sober heart rate is in the mid to upper 50s, too.
