movie theater and indoor bar?

I love going to the movies. Its a place I can get away for a little bit and escape. But the funny thing now is that most theaters has bars in it. I have never order an alcoholic beverage in there but funny that now they are putting that in there.

I completely understand why because they can make a lot of money but companies are making it harder to go to placing you cant get away from.

What a horrible idea. Are you in the US? If so, I can see the law suits already.

Let's get people drunk during what's supposed to be a quiet 90 - 120 minute movie viewing session. Gee, I wonder how that will turn out.

Where is this?
when I was 15 I spent a summer abroad and loved drinking beer in outside movie theaters and buying my cigs from outdoor vending machines. I felt so fancy and grown up

Most places in Atlanta now. You can't go into a movie theater without sseeing a bar inside.

It's here in Australia too - but only for a 'GoldClass' price ($25 vs $18 adult price).

I've never even noticed the bar, wherever it is

Cool

They sold alcoholic beverages in the theater back in the day when I was 9-10 y/o and saw 'Annie Get Your Gun,' 'South Pacific,' and 'My Fair Lady' (I wasn't allowed to see 'Fanny;' my mother didn't think I was old enough------lolol). Oh, those were real 'theatre.' (o:

I do remember some movie theaters serving alcoholic beverages, in California and Texas, as far back as 1984.

Me being selfish and self-centered, I typically love our screen with a bar. We only have one small screen that serves, and it's more expensive and drink prices are outrageous... which means it knocks out the rowdy kids and is typically a more calm crowd... I love my movies and want to watch them in peace. So far, I've had great experience there... no temptations.

I can remember when I was drinking and once on a trip going to a movie theater that served alcohol... I thought it was the best invention ever as sitting through a two hour movie without a drink normally made me just want to watch something on Netflix at home.

Funny how things are flipped now and I'd rather watch something on Netflix at home without any booze than go to a theater that had people drinking.
