That was hard...

So the sun is shining I get home from work to find my partner sitting in the garden having a beer....walk into the kitchen open the fridge and cold beers just sitting there...I almost broke...instead I put on my running shoes went for a run and now the crave has gone...bath and bed for me (and watching the uk soap awards) phewf....that was a close one...day 12 💪 really hope I don't break this weekend

Lennox, I know it's hard when your partner drinks. Way to get through it.

Wow awesome achievement there!

Forgive me for asking but is there any way your partner can not drink in the house? at least for a little while to make it easier for you ?

Well done

I had a similar experience this weekend. A friend of ours brought his beer to the lake and it was quite a surprise to me. I could see and smell it. Terrible smell though But I had a few pangs of craving throughout the day.

It's good to see that we really can get through a craving like that. That said, I would find it extremely difficult to be around a partner who openly drinks.

Great job

Congrats on day 12! You literally didn't just walk but instead ran away from that beer. Awesome job!

That IS hard, Lennox. My husband drinks still, too. I told him that I want him to not drink around me....but, you know, I don't think he can NOT drink. It has been a problem here in this house hold.

Hey everyone...thanks for the replies. My partner does drink but only 1 or 2 here or there. She is a "normal" drinker. She knew something was up and straight away asked if I did mind if she was havingn a drink. I said no...because I know she is not a every night drinker and this would have been a one off. However the offer was there which to me is a sign of support. I think if she was to get raging drunk infront of me then there would be a problem. I have started to worry now though...summer is approaching and it's all beer gardens etc. I know I should think about today only but can't help worrying. 😫

Glad you got through it! Not sure I would have been able to go through that this early.
At least your partner knows, so if you were to go in there and try to drink her beer she would know something was up!

Just wanted to say great job at not giving in, Lennox.

I've been mentally trying to come up with tasty summery alternatives to drink... so far all I've got is my faux gin and tonic, which is just tonic and lime. Original, right?!

Congrads on the not drinking!! Wow, i wanna think I could be that strong, but this weekend is tough enough. I live by the lake and I can hear and smell the good time out there on the water. But here I sit at home 22 days sober. Your as inspiration to many including me. Thanks for being strong!
