Tired and achy
Congratulations on Day 7.
Well, the early days of sobriety are difficult ones for sure. I would say it's normal to feel tired, but I also recommend talking to your dr if you haven't done so.

Glad you're here, welcome - grats on a week!
Nicely done!
As we start to remove booze from our system and work on release of the drinking habit our body and mind adapt to the changes. I was tired as well and maybe sore some too.
A check up / physical is always a good idea when we quit. I think we become hyper sensitive to how we feel as well in new sobriety.
When we drank and felt lousy we chalked it up to the alcohol. When it's removed we start dwelling on each heartbeat, each pain etc......... Our brains our starting to wonder what's the new normal, perhaps.
Keep posting and thanks for the thread!

I think I was in bed by 9 for a few weeks after quitting. I felt totally wiped out, which I assume was my body taking a little time to recover. But after a few weeks I could really feel my health and energy level improving. Congrats on a week & keep it up!

Yep congrats on a week..........I spent 2 weeks in bed....giving myself a lot of self care. I started drinking orange juice and eating fruit and the new chobanis w the chocolate pieces.....I fell asleep reading a lot. My sleep hours were way off. I didn't ache either ..... But I sweated for 5 weeks.....day and night.....I read on here it takes 6 weeks for your liver to recover from drinking if it's not crazy damaged.....so that's about right I suppose.
Hi hurley. I was absolutely exhausted when I quit. I also had muscle aches & almost a flu-like feeling in the early days. We've beaten ourselves up badly - it takes time to heal. I do agree that you should check with a doctor if your symptoms are worrying you.
Congrats on your 7 days.
Congrats on your 7 days.
Seems that for the first few weeks we at times may have to deal with a lot of different issues. The good news. Things get so much better before we know it, ((if)) we stay sober.

I was a zombie when I first quit and needed a lot of rest. I seem to remember being a bit achy. Night sweats for sure.
It gets better but if the sore and achy doesn't pass, I'd ask your doctor. Flu has some of the same symptoms.
