Hey guys

Hey guys,

I just wanted to mention that I'm taking a break for a while from the forum, I have a lot going on at the moment and I probably just need to try and get on with it myself rather than pester people on here.

There are some amazing people on here and I'm so very grateful for all the support, guidance and good will I have received.

Thanks

Hi Stewy ,
Fine to take a break but be careful this isn't the AV trying to isolate you into an "acceptable" place where you can drink .

Is it your intention to drink ? With me, when i drank things only got worse, slowly bit by bit , other people ended up making decisions or i procrastinated myself into more dire situations.
It also wasted away years that i could have been sober and sorting things out in .

Take care , whatever you do .

I agree w mechanic.....I was just thinking yesterday that I feel so very far behind because I spent so long being drunk in the other reality. I do a lot of reading on here even if I dont post a lot.....and I know these activities are definetly keeping me so sober.

Your call to leave, though I'd hardly call your pattern of posting "pestering".

Did someone's reply strike a nerve?

If you're leaving to drink, don't.

Stewy, your posts are never pestering.

We care.

Yes, you do have a lot of things going on and issues to work through but that is when you need support the most.

Hope you stay. Most importantly, please don't drink.

Hope you don't leave either Stewy. I'd agree with the others that this might be your addiction looking for another excuse to drink. You made it through yesterday without drinking using the site for support...what do you think would have happened if you just tried it on your own?

I think that the support you're getting here is important, Stewy.

This sounds exactly like something I posted about a month ago. When I first had the thought to take a break drinking wasn't something I had planned to do. But, I drank that very night and wound up going on a two week bender. Looking back at it now, there were warning signs leading up to it and severing my support system was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I really hope you will reconsider.

Your (or anyone else's, for that matter) posting in here is not anything close to pestering. I hope you change your mind and don't listen to the alcoholic voice that has made this decision.
