place to start?
Hi.
I'm new to this, forums, and the idea of committing to change. I was drinking yesterday. That's my pattern. One day on, one day off. I'm hoping for two in a row and not wanting to cave and drink tomorrow.
So far I've never been to AA and only made half hearted attempts to quit. Since I'm miserable, it would be logical to do something different right?
I've peaked around a bit and will go read up on the addiction voice.
My best wishes to all of you on this journey.

Strat,
I have a plan for today. I'm working at home, going to business appt., driving past the "store" on my way home. I have told my husband that I was seeking support and would not be drinking today This evening, I 'm going to do some laundry and work in the flowers we planted this weekend. Very simple. I'm going to do something - anything besides "think and drink". Doing the laundry has more appeal than drinking and thinking about it. Sounds crazy, but I believe today will be ok.
I do have to think about the bigger picture, but I can get easily lost and overwhelmed too. Right now, I have sobriety booked thru tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to trust that 24 hours is enough time to make that plan without panicking, getting overwhelmed and drinking.
Thank you for the question!
