Not choosing is choosing...

Long time sober friend reminded me today...

When we do NOT choose, we have chosen.

This is important in sobriety - because when we do NOT choose sobriety with each new day.... We have simultaneously chosen; to leave ourselves open to a drink.

When we do NOT choose to support our sobriety with action - we have chosen; to expose ourselves to weakness.

When we do NOT choose NOT to drink - we have chosen; to maybe drink....

Remember the power of choice.

Remember that every non-choice is also a choice ....

Indeed.

"Failing to plan" and "planning to fail" are interrelated.

Great post!! I woke up this morning, meditated and went over my plan. First thing: I'm not drinking. Choice made, plans in place and I know my sobriety is in place today.

Yes!!! This is exactly how it works.
It's vital to remember that it's all a matter of choice.

Thanks Owl. This always brings to mind the lyrics in the Rush song, freewill. "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice".

I can choose to see the glass as half full or half empty. It may take some practice to see the glass half full, but I can choose to put in the practice for that, too.

Today, I choose to embrace my sobriety. I think that is so much more positive than choosing not to drink.
