New hello
Hi there.
I've joined this site because I have just lost my mother to alcoholism. She was 52 years old. I am 26. I have two younger siblings and my father, as well as my grandparents and my mothers siblings. We are all dealing with this loss in different ways.
I'm not sure what else to say or do here, it suggested I post to the newcomers post board.
I'm hoping this site will help me cope, and perhaps I can share my mothers story and it can help others overcome their addiction.
Not sure how much I'll log onto this site yet either. there is a lot of uncertainty in my life right now.
thanks.

Welcome Achingsoul! I am sorry for the circumstances which brought you here. Please have a look around at all the forums here--there's one for family members of alcoholics and one for those with a recent loss. The "sticky" threads at the top of each forum have great information.

Achingsoul, I am so very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through right now. Please do look around and find the right form you feel comfortable with. Time will only tell what and how much you are willing and wanting to share about your mothers battle with alcoholism. I can tell you as a young mother myself nothing motivates me and keeps me on track then hearing the stories of children who have dealt with an alcoholic parent.
You will find support from all of the forms.
Bless you and your family during this difficult time.

Thank you everyone. I hope I can find some sort of relief when I am feeling down and lost. Your kind words are already helping. It is nice to know I am not alone and others have gone through, and are going through the same hurt.
