Just drinking a cuppa

......tea! Hard going today as staying over with work colleagues on an away day thing and they started drinking in the afternoon! Like 1300! By the end of the evening the JD came out and they were trying to convince me I was missing out and should "just have a sip!" I said no and boy will they be rough in the morning! They are not close work colleagues but I didn't appreciate the coaxing . I think that they were a little self conscious of their drinking to start with and by the end of the night they just wanted to keep drinking so me and a couple of more senior colleagues left them to it!

Luckily JDs and AV didn't get chance to meet again tonight.

I am now going to bed to get some rest.
Night all!

Well done... I found one of my biggest dislikes upon getting sober has been drunk people. I kept myself away from situations that might have led to peer pressure.

Hope you sleep well and enjoy waking without the hangover it sounds like your colleagues are in for. JD hangover? Bleugh.

Night night

While it's great that you're staying strong, I am a bit concerned you keep on putting yourself into these environments/situations, esp since you posted your AV has been cropping up more as of late.

Yeah, no way I could have been around that in early sobriety. I agree that your willpower wass strong.. this time.. but why would you put yourself in that situation?

Good for you! I agree that it would be difficult for me as well, and it can be risky, but if you're confident enough in your sobriety maybe it's good to get used to saying "no"

Brilliant move, BG. Just wait until morning, your life will be moving forward and your day will be starting out great. They will be suffering the many consequences of being hungover, which we all know too well. Good job!

That's great news. Work situations can be tricky sometimes but I'm pleased you are committed to recovery and having a good sober evening!
