Dad takes his son to sports team practice everyday - for years. He spends hours teaching his son what it means to win, but most importantly how to lose.

Dad works, and works and works with his child. Then one day, the boy gets on TV! He's reached the pinnacle of sports success! The child has scored the winning touch down or hit the game winning home run!!

The camera zooms in on him - the player, the winner - Dad's protégé! What a great event - the Dad is beside himself watching with joy.

The Boy face glows with pride - he smiles widely! And then, that moment Dad has waited for all these many years. The thanks that is sure to come - for all his efforts and sacrifice in training his boy.

Last year my wife and I visited our daughter while she was studying abroad in Galway and were there for the UK's Mother's Day. After we came home we still had the USA's Mother's Day celebration ahead of us. For the record, there was only a minor acknowledgement while in the UK, but as always a full blown one when we were home. So two celebrations, sort of.
