Need to make changes
Hi!
Another Day 1. Yesterday I felt miserable, depressed, so I drank. That really did NOT help. I need to make changes in my life. I have a great job, 2 wonderful kids and a boyfriend who really does not help me stay sober. He doesnīt see the problem and I am not going to tell him. We donīt live together, and donīt see each other so often. But when we do I find him very demanding, he wants so much from me I get exhausted. And drink. I have a job that is very demanding too, lots of travelling and situations with employees that I have to solve. I really need to start thinking about what life I want and learn to say NO. I want to be a healthy happy person and the first step is to loose the drinking.

Hi Laura ,
Saying no is a powerful tool , so is coming to post on SR before you pick up the drink …
A lot of people seek support after they drink and not before ..
I think i read something clever by Nonsencical the other day " normal drinkers don't have a voice in their heads telling them they are ".
Certainly seems to me whatever program or resource you decide to commit to, to get help, it might be worth learning to identify and separate yourself from "the alcoholic voice" .
Take care , m

Dee, I know, it is embarrassing, I manage a few days. I think I need support, like someone to talk to, tried it once, but the therapist wasnīt good, no experiece of his own. And I need to stay on here. Also I hooked up with a quite new friend who is a runner, I love running, and will use it as a tool too. I really feel poisoned, and i donīt like it.
All of those things sound like good starting points
I'd look at stress too - how much of it you have, how you can cut that down, -and change the way you deal with it?
There's really good ideas for recovery plans here:

You can do this Laura!!
For me it was all about trying something knew, no matter how small, more support, more resources, something to keep me Sober no matter what, even camping out on SR every evening is what it came down to at times!!
Go at things again, but tweak your plan!!
