Back from a risky situation
Back from a risky situation
Dear Friends
I posted a while back to say I was facing a risky situation - a foreign trip. Several of you gave some helpful responses so thanks for that. I am now home after three weeks abroad and I can say with a mixture of humility and pride that I didn't drink at all during the entire time. This marked a very different experience for me and it made the whole trip much more interesting and rewarding.
I'll share some more about it later but I'm going to an AA meeting now and meeting my sponsor. I'll be happy to explain the practical steps I took to stay abstinent during the trip later.

Just came back from the Caribbean with friends and didn't have a drop either. I had anxiety before going because I hadn't told them about my drinking. Turned out not to be a big deal and had a fantastic time, especially waking really early in the morning and enjoying the solitude of the beach and sunrise each day hangover-free. Who knew?
