New and Searching

Just want to look for friends, it's hard handling this all by myself. I am hoping to find some relief in the sharing. My situation is not horrible and I walked straight into it knowing his problem. I married my alcoholic husband too soon I know. I am totally supporting us too. I recently told him I would not be buying his liquor with my money anymore. He quit drinking for a few days after running out, but he found money for it somewhere today. My biggest problem is feeling bad for wanting to kick him out without a dime. It's not like I owe him anything, he lost everything right before I met him. I am feeling like a total idiot.

Welcome I am sorry for your situation. Look around the forum there are sections for family members of addicts. I know I have put my family through the ringer.

Hi.
I also suggest Friends and Families forums on this site for some guidance in this type of relationship. Be warned that you many not be in agreement with all the advice given but it’s usually right on.

Also your area probably has the very excellent help groups of Al Anon. it’s sort of an offshoot of AA with many wonderful people to help.

BE WELL

Welcome littleleo Keep in mind that you have a right to your life, married or not you have not signed on to financially support your husband's drinking.
