Starting step 4 this morning
I'm not sure how to do this other than taking the big book and writing in that format. I still don't have an official sponsor, but I do have my grand sponsor...my original sponsor dropped out of the program. I'm just going to do resentments today. Then I'll run it by her to make sure I'm doing it right. Is this resentments now or anything I can remember? You know what, never mind. As I think about past resentment I relize I'm still resentful. lol, I guess that's what this is for huh.

The worksheets from Dallas B really helped me. They are done the Big Book way and have instructions, quotes from the book, etc... I was in a brain fog still when I did mine and having it all laid out in a fill in the blank and checklist format was very helpful. Google Dallas B fourth step and they should pop up.
Good job on working your steps. I got a lot of relief somewhere along the point that you are at. Best wishes.

It's extremely difficult to find a sponsor where I am located. The closest meeting is 45 minutes away. The other meeting I can occasionally make has one woman who doesn't want to sponsor at this time. I have asked every woman in my homegroup that isn't in their first year. The other sponsor I had for a whole two weeks and she is actively drinking again. So I have a dear friend in the program that I call and the sponsor to my original sponsor (grand sponsor) who is almost always able to help me as long as I do not ask her to be my sponsor. Does this all make sense? Lol, I've had a tricky 6 months.

The only thing that is difficult about a fourth step is being completely honest and willing. Don't overthink all of this and you will be fine. Listen to some speakers and do the worksheets. The further you get into it the more sense it will make. Once you get the ball rolling the resentments will probably flow. Start with the big obvious ones. The little ones will follow. Follow it with your fifth step. Don't spend a lot of time in between worrying or trying to figure out if you forgot something. If you remember something later you can always do another inventory.
I might review your criteria for a sponsor. Time up is not a valid factor. I would be looking for someone who has worked the steps and had a spiritual experience as the result. That is the only kind of person that can show me how to have my own spiritual experience.
I know people with only six months in the program that I would trust my life to, and people with 20 years plus who have absolutely nothing to offer.

Good for you on doing a 4th step......There's an old AA saying - if we don't do a forth step we drink a 5th!
Wonder if there is a member of the clergy around to hear your 5th step read. Some have background or training in this and provide valuable insight if a sponsor is unavailable.
Back to Basics seminars are great doing all steps in a weekend or day. It's a 30,000 ft view for sure, but I found it very helpful.
This is their website and what is considered a more readable 4th step sheet for many to understand.

Good luck to you!
You can't do it wrong......I was told to look for the boulders. Plenty of time for nitty gritty down the road........
