Day 1 of many
I've been drinking way to much of late. Wife and kids were away with the inlaws over the weekend so I of course had a blow out and now have missed some work as I'm a little depressed.
Just looking for some support to get through these first few day.
I have a friend I rarely see due to his alcoholism who has just done 2 weeks dry. So at the back of my mind that's a bit of hope right there as he was in a very bad spot.
So yeah, just looking for a bit of support please guys.

I've just completed my fifth day sober, which was extremely hard, I can tell ya! It's not getting any easier, yet. The craving is still extremely high. So, I'm definitely rooting for you. I know how hard it is, and I'm depressed, too.
P.M if you ever feel like you need to talk.

Sober32- your friend is doing it, a lot of us are doing it. You can jump on board, too. The first few days may be hard but its well worth it. The good news is you can gain some motivation from others on here who've been down the road and can give you some good advice.
Awesome job on 5 days, Gabrielle!

Yeah, its tough and gets you down. Always being able to look at the bright side of things all the time is not realistic. But trying is something I'm attempting to do nowadays. I'm a few days in myself and still working to get my life back together.
I'm still trying hard to get my mindset correct and for me its worth trying. I tried drinking and failed.
If that helps in any way.
Prayers to you.

Today will be easy I think, the next few days are hardest as you can get bored.
At the moment I'm just over it so it makes day one a bit easier. ATM it takes a bit longer to **** so think I have some inflamed prostate going on from the grog.
Got some Valium for the inevitable anxiety. It's now 2:54pm, but I'm going strong. Although I've been in bed most of the day, but I'm up now.
Really looking forward to being reasonably fresh tomorrow and getting some work done.
Thanks for the support guys.

Day two & going strong. Got a heap of physical work done so that made me feel better today. I have had minimal anxiety but my wife and daughter are coming home soon. Daughters ill and SUPER grumpy atm (shes 3) so i'll pop a couple Valium so I don't end up turning to the booze to cope with a screaming child this evening.
Wish me luck, all in all going pretty good though.
