Wow...just...wow

Last year at this time I was drunk. My daughter probably had to entertain herself so mommy could be left alone with her beer. My energy levels are finally starting to get better and tonight, without even thinking about it, I was on the swing set with my daughter. For a long time. We played, ran with the dog, laughed at the chickens...it was effortless and something I regretfully neglected to do with her, especially the last 3 years. Tonight before bed she said "mommy, thank you for playing with me and making me laugh". My heart broke and was overwhelmed with joy all at the same time. I will not allow myself to wallow in the past. I could very easily if I wanted to, but there is no time. Life is short and if spirit gives me tomorrow, I ask for the guidance to live in the now, like today. I just wanted to share. Sobriety is extremely rewarding. Extremely.

Awesome! Makes the struggle worth while. Can't make up the time I lost with my kids. Spent Sunday with my grandsons though kicking the ball around and giving them tractor rides. Wouldn't have been trusted to do this if I were still drinking. Life's too short to waste it drinking for sure. Thanks for sharing.
