Day 1 again
And do I ever feel awful...only thing keeping me going is the thought that I never have to feel like this again I'm going to go to the doctor and see if I can get some medication....any tips for the early days?
I honestly can't remeber.
It also depends if what drug we're talking about cause I'm full of cross-addiction and addictive behaviour.
Nowadays I consider every single day as day one.
That's without the nausea, headache, anxiety etc.

I'm on day three after relapsing.
Going to your doctor is a good idea and it's likely they will be able to refer to therapy etc.
The feeling will pass. I felt good before I relapsed but I got complacent in my recovery.
There's lots of support here and we can do this!

Seeing a doctor is a good first step. Unfortunately there is no pill or magic trick that can eliminate or erase withdrawals/hangovers - but drinking lots of water, eating good food ( if you can ) and getting rest will help.
You can eliminate any future WD's or hangover though if you can figure out a plan to keep from drinking again. What have you been using up to this point? Have you tried meetings or therapy/rehab? Self Help books? Joining a monthly or daily thread here on SR?

Sober life,
I had awful withdrawals last time with sweats, shakes, headaches, upset stomach...it was horrible but I got the all clear from my doctor. This time I lapsed with one drink, so it's far easier as I'm dealing with the emotional and psychological stuff.
It will pass! Once it's over, you never need to go through it again :-)

My withdrawals were hands shaking, A LOT of anxiety, and butterflies in my stomach. Not the kind when you're in love lol, but I think it was a mix of anxiety and my stomach healing from all that alcohol i put into it.
Also, my thinking was slow, and I felt like I was in a mental fog.
I'm one day 4 now. Anxiety is still there and I don't think it will completely go away for a while. I've done a lot of damage and i've hurt myself and others so I know i'll be anxious and a bit sad for a while. But the mental fog is lifting, my energy is coming back, and my tummy feels better.
Just hang in there!

I tried all kinds of things to get me through extremely hungover days. Did google searches hoping for miracle cures and whatnot. None of that worked.
Time was the only thing that ever made me feel better.
I feel for you, soberlife123. I worked many, many days hungover and it sucks!
Best wishes!
