Night Sweats

Hiya, I've not had a drink for 6 days after drinking heavier than usual over the Easter week. I've not had any withdrawal symptoms apart from bad night sweats. I also had them on the last 2 nights of the heavy drinking which had me worried. Can anyone tell me how normal this is? If it was just on the withdrawal nights I probably wouldn't be as concerned. My mums first sign of cancer was night sweats so I'm a little worried 😔

It was pretty normal for me for anything up to a week- 10 days. I'm an Aussie too.

If you're concerned tho, it's not a bad idea to run it by your Dr.

I had them for a week or two after sobering up. Great job on the six days and keep going. It only gets better.

Geez, I lived with night sweats for 18 years. Pretty normal for alcoholics IMO.

I remember you too. Congrats on your twins

Yeah I'm not too far out of Bris now.
At least the weather is cooler - that will help a little too

Hi Doin, how old are you? Could be peri-menopause which can go on for ages before menopause. If they continue, discuss with your doctor.

At least you live in a climate where you're used to actively staying cool. My sisters couldn't handle menopausal night sweats but didn't have fans, air con or open windows. Anyone would feel hot in those conditions.

Night sweats are funny because you wake up simultaneously bathed in sweat and cold, so you're not sure whether to put on or take off the extra blanket.

Hi,

As others have said, it seems pretty normal. I hope that you feel better soon.

I had night sweats when I drank. One of the great benefits of quitting has been that they have gone away! Sending you hugs and support.
