What a relief

Just talked to my sister and found the strength to tell her about my plans to divorce. And all I found was understanding. Only a week ago, I was not able to talk. Now I can take a deep breath and open up. Thank you for the encouragement! This feels so good and I am about to cry because I am so overwhelmed, but happy.

That is great!!!! I will never forget when I opened up to my sister about all that was going on. She was a constant source of support for me and my children. I can only say I completely understand what you are feeling! I am so so very glad you made this choice!

Hugs, many hugs!

Telling the truth is freeing, isn't it? I'm glad your sister is supportive.

Know what my parents said when I called them and told them I was leaving AXH?
"About damn time. We've been waiting and praying for this call for 20 years."

Lol lillamy . . . I told my sister not to tell dad anything yet, the news might be too much for him at the moment, and I want to tell him myself, but I'm pretty sure that after the initial shock, he might be like "yesssssssss!"

I'm sure you won't find judgement from anyone who is close to you. It's good to share the burden.

It is good to share, but it is also like getting another wake up call because the reality hits you in the head. What my sister said about how our father felt about us not being to visit for such a long time got me a bit, and I know exactly what "Dad does not think it is quite right . . . " means.

But I hope to end this nightmare this year. Last night, I emailed a rental agency. I hope they will have something.
