I've lost about 40 and saved a ton of money. I am not sure how much because I am putting into the house but A LOT!

about £18,900 so far saved on my sober journey
a new car bought , a few vacations and all my debt cleared and savings made .

letting the spirit of sobriety to grow into other areas of my life has been great .

Because I don't spend money on drugs and alcohol, I don't hesitate to buy quality organic food, treat myself to much-needed massage therapy, or seek health care when I know I should.

I've found that since getting sober, I have more money (a lot more money), am less of a fat and sweaty slob, don't vomiting daily, don't suffer from crippling fear, fulfill my obligations and am more dependable, and can accomplish things I always said I'd do but never had the guts/motivation to try.

So... tell me why did I put off this whole sobriety thing for so long?

Planning for my future with something resembling probability is also nice.

that's awesome! I have only just started exercising at 6 months! I cant wait to loose weight, but this time around I did compensate a little (too much !) with food so I didn't drink. (It is in AA literature about not getting hungry). But now I want to get in shape.

Inspirational post! Well done!

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and I've saved $400!! I bought a new bathing suit and some new tshirts. Hoping for the weight loss eventually, but am still struggling with sugar cravings.
BUT! I also am eating more ice cream and tasty things AND NOT FEELING GUILTY! since I'm not wasting calories on booze.

That is amazing!

I need to get off my duff and start running again.

I've been donating Plasma and working hard so my spare time is filled with naps. Running totally keeps me sane.

I just scarfed down a burger, a sausage and some chips and guacamole. I tasted it all and now I will go lie down and snuggle with my boyfriend.

I'm not feeling guilty at all today. I am feeling blessed.
