3 p.m. Cravings
3 p.m. Cravings
I wouldn't necessarily call them cravings because I haven't wanted a drink recently, but around 3 is when I would start to drink. From 3 to 6 pm my anxiety increases, I get more agitated, and my mind feels really racy. Blood pressure goes up a bit but not dangerous(I'm ocd and have a monitor lol)
Will this end? How did you deal with these symptoms. I'm thinking of naturally calming myself down. I guess I just live with it until my body adjusts. It sucks pretty bad but I'm here because of me so do i just put on my big boy pants and trudge through it? I can tell you this much it's a heck of a lot better than day 1 over and over.

Ninja, it will end.
Can't tell you exactly how long it was for me, first 10 days was probably the toughest. I remember when doing grocery shopping I literally run away from wine aisles not to buy some.
Anyway, for me making a plan worked. You know your "danger zone" - get ready for war. Make a list of things to do when urges hit - anything to keep your mind away from this. Going to the gym, reviving some hobby, etc.
It will get easier. But now it needs lots of your attention and focus - like a newborn baby. Take care of your sobriety, at some point it will take care of you.
Best wishes to you.

There are some great tips here NJ:

Have you considered varying your routine at all, if possible?

Yeah me and my wife are adjusting our schedules so I'm buy Monday through Friday at pretty much this exact time. Sitting around is the worst. The tiniest little things set me off when I'm stressed but im working on it and headed to counseling for the anxiety next week. My body is craving but I'm getting some food and riding it out. Isn't too bad
