Tomorrow is my sobriety date - seriously
Yes it's tomorrow, and I've been planning this for some time. How fitting that I met up at my local with the biggest alcoholic friend I have - he was slurring his words and forgetting things and the bartender, once I told him I'm getting sober, told me congratulations and that he needs to do the same.
There are many in my circle who think about doing the same.
Tomorrow will be the last day I worry about sweating out/smelling like alcohol. If I turn the fan on me after this day, it'll be because it's hot in the office and not because I'm having alcoholic sweats and don't want anyone to smell me.
But tomorrow I will have to put on extra layers of deodorant, or body lotion, and fan myself for fear of smelling like booze. I may be blurry, fuzzy or craving junk food for my hangover but it will be the last time.
Head - meet heart. Hello - nice to meet you. At last we are together.

Congratulations on deciding to get sober. I have been abstinent for a little over two weeks. It was/is difficult, but worth it.
Aaaaaaaaand I am going to say it, because everyone is going to (trust me): why aren't you stopping today?
Welcome to SR. Keep close to this site during your early sober hours, days, weeks and months. The people on this site are wonderful; I couldn't have done it without their support.

I tapered and didn't count that time. Do whatever you want. This is your sobriety and your journey.
I would recommend writing down your sobriety plan when you feel better. It also helped me to mourn alcohol. I took three or four days feeling pretty blue about it.
