Arrow Indianapolis Checking In, Finally Have Some Hope

Hi,

Short introduction.
Looking forward to reading notes.
Midlife crisis is what the doctors are saying.
I did NOT realize when considering that, "I" would be going through it too.

NEVER drank, husband, turned 39, doctors changed heart medication, and BOOOOOOM drinking like he has done it all of his life.

HE was a activist if you will, for NOT drinking always said it was a waste of a life, HIS father is an alcoholic and he watched as he beat up his mom, and swore HE would never drink!!

We have been married 22 years, have a 22 year old son.

I AM taking it one day at a time.

I love this man that has been a dream. I have not had to work, he has a successful buisness. So far, not affecting that too much, just after 22 years, he is sleeping IN the mornings, I feel just the beginning, though some part of me likes him home, before he was always gone. HE was always working, because he would call me and I would go to where he was, he is in construction. Never had any problems as far as him not being where he said, or calling me, until the alcohol, now not too bad, he has his moments.

I am looking forward to the support and help.

Hi sandy
Welcome to SR.
I am wondering if your husband could get onto another heart medication?
I am the alcoholic in my family.
You will want to go to the "friends and family of alcoholics" forum and read and post there so you can meet people in your situation.
My prayers are with you and I am looking forward to seeing you around here.

Hi and hugs,
Sounds to me like a mid-life crisis too. But, if it persists, gets intolerably worse, then perhaps it's more then making up for lost time, a hooplah, and "I'm still a young buck" and can raise just as much hell as the next guy.

How long has he been doing this? Do visit our Friends and Family forums.

HI !!

I spent almost two hours on the phone, plus talking to the husband, with the doctor, nurse, and they proceeded to tell me until HE says the medicine is affecting him, they won't do anything.

OH, thanks for the directive!! I just saw NEW board and that was ME!!

Some good news after a lot of prayer, and giving it to GOD, and changing my attitude, not saying anything, he only had two beers yesterday, now mind you I know today he could come in smashed, but that little bit was enough for me to Ya HOO

Thanks, and I am going to the other board where directed, OH BTW, since you KEL have admitted it that is the battle !! RighT???

love , thanks for the replys
