The insomnia ugh

For some reason after detoxing from alcohol and getting off benzos, I'm now unable to sleep. I slept from like 8:00 PM till 1:00 so I guess it's not horrible.

Maybe I'll just grab some red bulls from the gas station to make it through work.

I am having the same issue. I cannot sleep tonight. I am guessing this will be the regular routine for a while.

I've detoxed way too many times. I'm used to it by now I suppose. I'll just caffeinate myself up till about 6:00 PM and take my last benzo to put me to sleep on time.

I'm taking the dosages my doctor told me to, I just have to stay up through work. haha.

I have found that I'm often wired at night but can sleep like a freakin' baby mid afternoon which is quite annoying. Sleep around 4 pm is irresistible. Then I stay up too late.

I do get a reasonable number of hours during any given 24 hr period but feel so sleepy when the alarm goes off for work.

I will say that I feel 1 million times better than when I was drinking.

If you can avoid the red bulls it might be better. I think energy drinks can simply compound the problem?

Probably. For me it's a waiting game. Usually a week, but I'm getting ready to start day 10, so maybe I'll just try and suck it up.

I'm 40 and i have troughs in the afternoon , in spain they call them siestas, go hide from the sun and sleep for a few hours

On a serious note have you thought about your blood sugars ? when you are eating and what you are eating ? For me if i eat nothing at work i'm ok in the morning but then slump after about 2pm .
If i have something sugary it can buzz me up a bit but then i crash an hour later .

Just how my body seems to work !

Bestwishes, m
