The usual alcoholics are at it again tonight
Keep hearing them drive by speeding, honking etc on the way to the neighbors. A year ago that was my calling. It was hard to resist at first, now all I can think about is the temporary death that would be all day tomorrow. No thanks. I still talk to them, i've even hung around them some which I know is a no, no but it doesn't happen very often. I have pretty good self-control on things i'm interested in.
The longer I stay sober the more ridiculous things are. For instance, one of them went down to the farm with me the other day. I took him over to show him something in a barn. We had to walk maybe 200' i'd say. He was gasping for air by the time we got there. Then had to light up a cigarette and proceed to tell me how not only did he have a bad ulcer but also needed a hernia surgery. Guys only 47. So when we got home he took a nap. Then went to the bar. And has been drinking everyday since. It's insane.
