The Language of Letting Go, March 25

MARCH 25

You are reading from the book "The Language of Letting Go."

Letting Go of Worry

What if we knew for certain that everything we're worried about today would work out fine?

What if . . . we had a guarantee that the problem bothering us would be worked out in the most perfect way and at the best possible time? Furthermore, what if we knew that three years from now we'd be grateful for that problem and its solution?

What if . . . we knew that even our worst fear would work out for the best?

What if . . . we had a guarantee that everything that's happening, and has happened, in our life was meant to be, planned just for us and in our best interest?

What if . . . we had a guarantee that the people we love are experiencing exactly what they need in order to become who they're intended to become? Further, what if we had a guarantee that others can be responsible for themselves and we don't have to control or take responsibility for them?

What if . . . we knew the future was going to be good, and we would have an abundance of resources and guidance to handle whatever comes our way?

What if . . . we knew everything was okay, and we didn't have to worry about a thing? What would we do then?

We'd be free to let go and enjoy life.

Today, I will know that I don't have to worry about anything. If I do worry, I will do it with the understanding that I am choosing to worry and it is not necessary.

I needed this today.

So funny, because I look back on my life, and I see that everything worked out just great, really, despite my worries. And I mean in really profound ways--ways that have taught me faith and hope and total trust in life--but sometimes I slip up.

Last night I had a slip--I got my monthly bill from the IRS (there's a very long story of how we wound up in a very deep hole) and I became incredibly frustrated and angry and disappointed in myself.

This morning, I got several messages in response to my worry. One was in my daily OSHO meditation where he said this:

You said meditation is non-doing, but to lose oneself in an activity, is it not required to focus, choose, will? If you focus, you will remain. If you choose, the chooser will be there. If you will, the ego can not disappear. If you really want to get lost in any kind of activity, you have to be a non-chooser. You have to drop your will. To be lost in any activity, it may be cleaining the floor, or dancing or painting or loving, it may be anything. To be lost and do it, you have to drop your will. You have to simply be like a dead leaf in the wind. So wherever the wind blows, the dead leaf moves with it. To the South, it ways yes, to the North, it says yes. If the wind leaves I on the gorund it says yes. It only knows yes. It knows no no. And that is the moment of benediction of bliss.

You will never be frustrated. Frustration comes out of expectation. Out of your will is your defeat. And see people faces, they are all looking defeated, except children. They are still laughing and smiling because they don’t know what’s going to happen.
And I got a good business message from my Inc. Magazine online subscription that helped me put things in perspective which said, "Stop obsessing about money. Don't think about how you're going to make a million dollars. Instead, think about how you will serve a million people."

And then I got this message, about letting go of worry and remembering that things wind up just fine on their own.

OK, God, I get it!

Thanks for posting, honeypig!
