Hello from Travis
You're already off to a great start ad enjoying the benefits of the sober life already. Stay on SR and whatever other sober resources you have. The sober life is worth it!
Imagine the thing you were least likely to do while drinking...and consider those, as it was probably something that involved not drinking. Find a coffee shop for a new hangout. Enroll in a class, a gym, go to a gallery opening, take a hike, reawaken an old interest and hobby--chances are there's a group in the area that shares the same interest.
And there is always volunteering!
As for your social skills. Be patient. It gets easier as you get used to being sober and around sober people. Don't let social anxiety get the better of you or scare you from spreading your wings.

When I say something in a group of people I don't know, it feels like I might as well have climbed on to the table, taken a dump and then swan dived into it.
So if anyone has tips I'd like to hear them too.
