Day 5 - dreams

I had a dream, not where I drank, but where I was in a bad situation tempting me to drink. I dream vividly most nights, so I've had these dreams before and, man, can they be stressful. Anyone else have trouble with these? Do they ever go away?

Gearing up for a nice, sober weekend around the house. Got plenty of cleaning and stuff to keep me busy, as well as a cartoon and board game date with my husband tomorrow night. Happy Friday all! And if you are a server like I was for so many years, have fun making that money this weekend

Yes, these dreams are very common, especially in early sobriety. Remember though they are simply dreams - your mind is getting used to not being sedated all the time. And most likely they will decrease in intensity and frequency over time. Have a great weekend, sounds like you have some good plans.

I've hand plenty of those. I do believe they fade with our strength in sobriety

I have always dreamt a lot. Alcohol tended to dampen things down a bit, but I would dream late in the night when it was wearing off a bit - usually unpleasant dreams too.

I think that at least to begin with we sleep less deeply when we quit as we are used to being basically knocked out when drinking! I know the few hours I got the first two or three nights were more like half waking, half sleeping jumbles of thoughts, dreams, impressions and scary semi half asleep pseudo-hallucinations. Fading now thank goodness!
