So tired of it!

I keep having situations where random people are completely mean to me. And I'm really tired of it. It's day one for like the ten thousandth time so in sensitive. All I did was ask this doctor to fill out my FMLA paperwork and she was just totally rude to me. Over the top- she takes the form and starts writing "I don't know" as the answer to all the questions and she wouldn't give it back to me. How childish. All she had to say is I can't fill it out.

So today I'm just going to be miserable. Soon it will be over and at least I will have my 24 hours.

I DESERVE FMLA! I have a qualifying condition but I can't even have it reviewed because no doctor will fill out the form.

I sympathize.

You are going to be hypersensitive these early days sober. Prepare for it so your not agonizing over how mean, unthinking, rude, unkind, thoughtless, and arrogant the world is. Because it's probably not the world, just how you are reacting to it.

It's hard enough being sensitive without random people being mean to me

Remember, their meanness is about them, not about you.

I've had doctors give me static about FMLA. They eventually filled it out but made it known they didn't want to.

Yeah but they succeed in making me feel terrible. And I deserve FMLA. Now I can't even apply because no doctor will be bothered to fill out the form. That's RIDICULOUS. If I started to refuse to fill out forms at work, there would be serious consequences. But because it's a doctor- they can do anything they want. My insurance paid for that appointment. What a waste. What a colossal waste!

There's a deadline.

I don't even care anymore. If I have to take additional leave, it will be from my own reserve. It's not like I'm going on vacation anytime soon.

And my friend is supposed to be supporting me but she can't be bothered to text back. I was going to lend her money, but that's not going to happen now. She can sort out her own mess.

I can drop it off at the reception area and ask to have the doctor who saw me in the hospital fill it out. But the chances of that happening before the deadline- if It happens at all- are slim. I would have left it today but since she wrote on it I have to get a new form.

Oh well. There's nothing else I can do.

If I have to pay it back, I will just go back to being behind on every single bill, every single month. I'm used to it by now.

It's a money thing? FMLA is about time off work. Is it insurance or something. Guess I'm not understanding

That was somewhat unproffesional of your doctor.

Depending where you are located there must be a licensing/regulatory board there. See about filing a complaint with them. They are required to at least look into the matter.

FMLA guarantees I can use annual leave to cover my absence when I was in the hospital. If I don't have it, it's at the discretion of my boss. Who, hopefully, will approve it. I was too upset to call and ask this afternoon.

If it's not approved, it goes as unpaid leave because I don't have any sick time left. I took a lot when my father was dying in December. So I would have to repay the money I made for the 6 days I was off because I was already paid for it.

I am thinking of reporting her. That was just insane.

Ahh...I understand now. I didn't realize you were counting on pay from work. I always had vacation time left when I used it and was more worried about getting canned for missing work. I'm sure there are legal options to protest it but as you say if it's a matter of urgency that won't help much. I'm sure the appeal process or however it works will take weeks or months

Cool

Actually FMLA has nothing to do with money; it only means that your employer needs to hold your job position for you/your return. Whether your employer pays you, or allows you to use leave time, is always at the discretion of your employer.

Ok, where I work it determines which kind of leave you can take, which I've already explained.
