My past is returning to haunt me

I am trying to get a credit card. Apparantly during one of my drunken rampages about 5 years ago, I put a freeze on my credit. I vaguely remember the incident. I couldn't find my wallet. I made up some ridiculous story that it was stolen. I drunkenly called the bank and all kinds of other people. I guess I had some one freeze my credit. The wallet laid next to me the next day. I was passed out in my bed and the wallet was right there. I never fessed up to the drama. I never called anyone back to correct what I did the previous night. I just left it alone. That is my honest confession of the day. I have a meeting and when I get back I will try and fix that mess. Lol. I am a little mad at the ole drunk Jen right now.

Oh man... I've made so many drunken financial mistakes over the years.

Good news; one step at a time the finances get fixed - just like the rest of life in sobriety.

Keep at it. Before you know it, you'll be amazed.

CG, you'll get it sorted out but what a headache. I called and reported my card lost or stolen several times. Once, it was sitting on my computer keyboard where I'd been engaging in a little drunken Amazon shopping. Right in plain sight.

At least we have a chance of not repeating that while sober, though I'm very scatterbrained still.

Oh Jen, I was always losing and finding things in my drinking days too. The main thing is that you're working to straighten things out now. Good job!

Jen , think of all the things that you could have done wrong with that line of credit when you were drunk! Geesh , freezing the account was probably a good thing....

You will sort it out and it will be alright. So glad those days are behind us. Once I hid my and my hubby's ********* in a hotel room and forgot where...

As PP said, at least you froze it not spend it all

Wow! I am so glad I'm not alone. I have to laugh at how ridiculous I was. My car got broken into...once, true story. But according to drunk Jen I was robbed more times than I can count on my fingers and toes. It's so easy to blame everything on everybody else when you are in that state of mind. So I laugh at it. I will fix it. I feel like I'm cleaning up after a four year old.

I used to order dumb stuff online while I was drunk. Then receive packages during the week & I didn't remember ordering it. Or I would wake up to a bunch of confirmation emails of things I bought while I was drunk. Gah!!!

Reminds me of the time I was so hungover on a weekday that I couldn't bother to move the car by 11 am so it got towed for the street cleaners. By the time I paid for the tow and impound I was out of over $300. Oh the stupidity.

Jennifer
I was told I stopped growing mentally and emotionally when I picked up my first drink. So even though 36 when I got sober, only 13 in my head. Didn't take long for Me to believe that.
