Rant!

I got fired from my job.

My wife and I both, actually. Long, boring 'work politics' story.

No doubt something will turn up but it is a bit scary in the meantime.

I only wanted to rant a bit and to say how in the middle of this stress it is truly comforting to know that I'm not going to drink on it.

Sorry to hear of your job loss, hopefully something turns up!!

Yeap drinking isn't going to create a new job, realising that in moments of stress was a great realisation for me!!

I'm sorry to hear of the job loss SoberMax but it's great that you don't see it as a reason or excuse to drink. Rant away and good luck in your search.

You just never know if something is a tragedy or a gift, until time unwraps the present for you!

Here is my favorite prayer:

God, thank you for everything you have given me.
God, thank you for everything you have not given me.
God, thank you for everything you have taken away.

The more I think about those lines, and lay them over my personal history, the more I see how very true they are.

So, we feel loss when change happens, but it also sweeps the porch clean before the next thing arrives. Making space.

I hope that something just right settles into the space left by the loss of this job...

Sorry about that sober max - I hope this is one of those doors opening deals - a beginning rather than an ending - best wishes

Thanks everyone for your wise words - truly appreciated.

Would you believe it - I got a call with an offer of some work within 2 hours of posting. it isnīt enough on its own but just fine for now.

My stupid head had already sold my flat, made me homeless & had me drowning my sorrows in a hopeless future.

"There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so" is my current mantra.

Thanks universe, you had my back once more & I am grateful.

Max

Good luck Sobermax! You already realize that drinking won't help anything in the situation and only make it worse.

I lost my job 2 and 1/2 years ago which was very scary seeing as i'm the only wage earner in our family of 4. A new door opened which was much better than the door that closed.

I REALLY like the prayer that Heartcore posted:

God, thank you for everything you have given me.
God, thank you for everything you have not given me.
God, thank you for everything you have taken away.

Stay strong my friend!
