I've seen loads of these threads throughout the forum and thought it would be interesting to create yet another one (sort of new for us newbies and of course the oldtimers).

- hangovers
- crippling anxiety
- pounding heart
- high blood pressure
- unexplained bruises
- missing conversations
- drunk texting
- bloated face

I'll add 5 to the list:

-Chugging my body weight in water at 4am in the morning, praying I've enough time to Sober up before the alarm goes off!!

-Driving to work hoping not to get stopped as I'm probably over the limit.

-Calculating, planning, fearing running out of alcohol, making sure I have enough in my house for the evening.

-Wasting soo much money on alcohol that could have better spent.

-Working well below my potential at work, functioning was the lie I sold myself for years, but alcohol was still limiting my capability!!

I don't miss waking up feeling like death warmed over and hating myself.

Lying
Scratching around for money
Finding increasingly innovative places to hide the evidence
The evidence being found
Screaming matches with my husband
Feeling sick, tired, and guilty
Stinking of booze
Thinking it was a marvellous idea to do it all again tomorrow
Thinking everybody should understand and let me carry on because 'I had a problem 'and I should therefore be allowed to behave like a disgusting selfish drunk because it ' helped' me.

Hmmm .. And to think I was having a bit of a wobble earlier!!

Being embarrassed when the garbage man comes around and hearing all those bottles clang and echo throughout the neighborhood.

Oh god I forgot that one..in the UK some places have recycling bags that u leave right outside ur house on the street. U can't miss 'em..fluorescent yellow..huge things. Ours were full to the brim EVERY time. We had to request extra bags....😱oh the humiliation....😥😥😥
