Maybe advice.
I don't know that I'm qualified to give any advice as I've only been sober for...63 days, but I've found time management to be a helpful technique (basically just making to-do lists every day so that I always have something to do instead of drinking).
Also, coming here as often as you can might be helpful, even if you just read.

One tip is to make sure to remember how bad a hangover feels like. It's easy after a few days/weeks when you feel amazing to have the idea that a few drinks would be fine.
I did it too often to count, always ended up in the same bad spot.

I would say, get all the support that you can.
My first month to 6 weeks (can't quite remember) I 'managed' alone. What I didn't realise at the time was that not picking up a drink isn't the same as learning to Live Sober.
It was a huge relief to me when I finally got the courage to walk into my first AA meeting. And even more of a relief when, months later, I realised that the program only works properly if you actually work at it with a sponsor. My partner is also supportive, but alcoholism is a kind of insanity that the afflicted understand best.
Try to avoid Hunger; Anger; Loneliness and getting excessively Tired (HALT) as these things can all weaken your resolve. Lots of people take in more sugar to get them through the cravings. (Although personally, I found the excessive fructose really didn't help me moderate my emotions, which is difficult enough in recovery, so I stick to just dextrose / glucose now and have a very low fructose diet).
In the meantime, there are some really good books that helped me in the beginning (and that I still look at now)...

Thanks for the welcome. I did two months no drinking and celebrated by going to hotel with family and having a few beers while there. I should have known better. Had a few rough weeks topped with last nights stupidity. I'm ready to quit for good I'm done hating myself every morning and want to be a better father and husband
