If you are mourning the loss of drinking, if you feel left out when everyone else is drinking or talking about going drinking. If you feel sad when you have to say no to joining your friends for a drink, then I have a solution. Feel pity for the slaves to the bottle. Yes pity them not yourself. Feel empowered that you don't have to center your entertainment or daily life around the next drink. Ask yourself if you want to continue drink or if you want a life of fulfillment, a life where you remember what you did yesterday. A life where you don't have to walk up and head to the porcelain throne the first thing in the morning to puke your guts out. Enjoy every day with a new sense of meaning. Is it easy? Heck no! Is it going to solve all your life's problems? Heck no. One thing I can guarantee though, you will never wake up and consider your sober time a wast if you are true to yourself.

To that, I would add only this: Don't pity yourself if you cannot moderate. People who can moderate don't have drinking problems.
