The Essence of Committment.

I wanted to share a quote I came across today:

"Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in has left you".

Regardless of where we are now in our journey, we each made a conscious, courageous decision to make a powerful change.

Let's stay committed to the reasons we made that decision.

Yes I knew this before and it's very meaningful for me, far beyond as far as my commitment to sobriety goes. I've had what I call "commitment phobia" for a great chunk of my life, driven by a false sense of fear of losing freedom. I really had to dip my toes into commitments in a variety of ways to actually realize that what I was doing before was much more limiting and entrapping than a life lives with responsibilities and commitments. It's the fear that limits freedom, I think.

Great post.

This to me is a big step towards action instead of just forgotten words so often heard.

BE WELL

Doing the right thing, not because it feels good but because it is the right thing, is the essence of a principle driven life.

It's also a pretty good way out of a minefield of fvck-its.
