12 Days sober since DUI.

Once I get past the 18 day mark, it will be a 20 year sobriety record :-) Cravings are sometimes overwhelming, but I have a great support system with my girlfriend and my dad (who recovered from alcoholism with 10 years of sobriety). And of course, Sober Recovery is a great place to identify with others who are going through this. Thanks for the support!

Oh, to clarify... I have been drinking for over 20 years and 19 consecutive days will be the longest I have ever gone sober.

I drank for twenty five years alcoholically, and could never string together more than a week.
I hope the DUI is a wake up call, and remember, you never have to drink again.
Best to you, one day at a time.

Right on!

What a great start on a fantastic new life!

My advice would be this; don't choose to go back to drinking, get another DUI and almost a third, wreck your life further and throw away another ten years.

I did, I don't recommend it.

Rock on! Great work. How wonderful you can do this with full support from your Dad. Love it.
