Last few days the AV has been telling me to go buy a "6" to celebrate my abstaining for the last 2.5 months(?)
I can usually laugh this off.
BUT
Tonight, Im here posting cause its an unreal desire to buy a 6 and pound it.
ARG
I do know better - looking for support !!!!!!!
TY in advance....

hey livingnow
that little voice is a liar. Always.
There are better healthier ways to celebrate things or reward yourself. Think of a few
Think of how far you've come to get to this point - re-read your first posts if necessary.

It sounds familiar, yeah? To throw away your progress now would be madness.
You're well on your way to becoming who you want to be, and making decisions that enrich you and your life, not deplete them.
Think of yourself tomorrow morning and how happy you'll be to wake up sober.
Think of these tips:

post to others for a while. Read their stories.
Even if you have no advice give them your support
you can do this livingnow

A 6 will then become a 12, then a 24, until you are left feeling miserable, sick, anxious etc.
Will the AV be there to help you out? Nope, it will watch you in your misery. IT only cares about getting it's fix, your life, or death is irrelevant to IT.
Have some ice cream, go to bed early. Tomorrow you will wake up stronger.

Stay strong, livingnow. You will wake up tomorrow feeling well - without a hangover, without feelings of regret, and without the disappointment of realizing you must re-set your sobriety date.
You can do this.

Always play the tape through and remember 6 is never enough. It may be for a bit but then the beast takes over and one day turns to weeks and blah blah blah. LOL. Glad you made it
I also agree Dee is amazing!
well I'm a little late to this party, but I'm damn glad to see how it's progressed.
good job everyone, rising to the call....
and GREAT job, livingnow - cake is a million times better than beer.
But just for good measure.... I'm betting if you'd climbed into a 6 pack you'd have missed at least one good laugh, one special smile, one beautiful moment with that lovely wife of yours... baking you a cake.
Let every smile, every laugh, every beautiful moment be a reminder why not to buy beer tonight (or any night).
The greatest things in life are sober. Beer doesn't make them better.... it takes them away.
Enjoy that cake. every bite.
