Are these headaches par for the course..?

Well I've just completed day 13 and for the last week I've had a killer headache every evening ! Strangely I never really had them when I drank..just wondered if it was 'normal'? Also getting really bad hot sweats at night..but not sure if that's just my age and the joys of being a woman!

Have you been to see your Dr since you quit drinking?

I went and had tests done on my blood pressure, blood sugar etc, just to get checked out and stay safe during withdrawals.

Your body needs to repair from years of drinking, but it can't adjust in a matter of weeks, it's going to take time, but be safe if your concerned about anything, so hang in there!!

Keep pushing through, Day 13 is fantastic!!

I'd see your doctor for a complete check up. Ask him/her about the headaches. Congrats on 13 days sober!

Thank you..I haven't seen my GP yet..maybe I should..although when I was detoxing I had my blood pressure taken every day and it was quite low. Don't know if that's relevant. Also decided to overhaul my diet today so I've chucked out the chocolate and juice and the fridge is new full of water fruit and veg. All I have to do now is actually eat it...

Are you staying well hydrated? Have you increased caffeine intake?

I had horrible night sweats for a while. Maybe four to six weeks? They gradually got better but now I've been getting them again at 15 months but as you mentioned, time of life? I just turned 50. Annoying more than anything.

If the headaches don't ease, I'd talk to your doctor but make sure you are staying hydrated. If you have cut back on caffeine where you used to drink it, that could be it. Could be anything so check with the doctor.

I had headaches for a month every evening right in my temples and behind my eyes... they eased up.
