Yeap, contentment is what I'm trying to strive for in life, I think if I can have a piece of that then I'll be doing alright!!

Great share!!

Nice one, soberwolf! To me, the flip side of comparing ourselves with others would be to stand in judgement of others.....two sides of any ugly coin.

Good story Soberwolf

You can lose more than you gain by wanting too much "stuff"

I love this, thank you, soberwolf. I think this tale is something that could be used to trigger people to associate all sorts of things with it mentally, that could be quite revealing of someone's own personal world.

I definitely would not think that the peacock (as in the story) is the happiest or most attractive bird in the world. That sort of life is exhausting. I also would not think that that the crow, always looking for answers on the outside, is it. Searching tirelessly can be an entrapping habit also. Looking for love in all the wrong places. But then what, sit peacefully in perfect contentment that everything is as good as it can be? That reminds me of the idea that our motivation and drive to find happiness is strongly intertwined with the fact that we are mortal, that it'll run out someday so we're better to look for it and find it before that happens. Okay, I'll stop here, I could really free-associate on this for hours I think

I used to look for happiness, but now all I hope for is contentment. Happiness is fleeting. Inner peace is priceless.
