Heart of Hearts

I can answer this question myself, but I'm asking for a bit of reassurance on my decision.

My XAH (now divorced for a little over a year) called and asked if he could take me out. It's so close to me being sober for 1 year, all the mixed feelings I'm scared my emotions might take control of my actions ( drinking situations)

So, I've already answered my own question, Hell No!

Exactly. You're sobriety is your first priority, nothing comes before it.

Assuming x is still drinking?

I wouldn't get involved in that situation! Nurture your quit, don't sabotage yourself....way, way way too dangerous!

Was that a 'Hell NO'.
Wow, Almost a year sober is wonderful...
I stayed in a relationship longer than I should have because I was drinking...in sobriety I shake my head and think who was that woman,. I can not imagine why I stayed with him so long.
Emotionally I would not be able to handle going out to catch up with him.
Protect yourself.

Hi airwick, agree with Kaneda 100%.

It's the possible emotional turmoil that can make you lower your guard

Protecting your sobriety is not being selfish

Congratulations on "close to a year" by the way
