Really wanted a boottle of wine today..

Yesterday was a really bad day. I told myself today I could get a bottle of wine, drink it,get buzzed, sleep it off in my truck and then go home.Heck, I've got all day to myself, who would know? But then I remembered the last 2 times I drank in Dec, they were epic failures! I would probably have to buy a second bottle of alcohol after I got buzzed and I'm sure after not drinking for over two months my wife WOULD know!So thanks to what I learned about myself during my last hospital stay and with SR's supportive group I'll make it through another day-sober.

Great job on bit giving in to your AV. I bet you feel a lot better this morning than any night you might've slept in your truck. Isn't it crazy the things we would do just to have a drink? But the good news is we no longer have to go those crazy, irrational things.

I hope you have a better day today, headcase. Bad days pass and chances are the next day will look brighter, if we don't drink. I'm glad you didn't.

Heck, I am craving a Miller light right about now....But the memory of my first sober week and the fact that I literally thought I was dying heavily outweighs the memory of any great night drinking..

Awesome job staying sober another day !

Good job HC, this is a positive thing. You stared down your AV and won!

Haha me too. Miller WAS my favorite. Now my favorite is sparkling water and lime and living my life without feeling like in dying!!

Congratulations! Sometimes it's not day by day, but minute by minute. If I have the urge I find something to do and occupy my thoughts and body. Am lucky as the moment of desire passes and for that am greatful

I suddenly got wine cravings reading the subject line of this post...then I read further "drink wine...then sleep it off in my truck". After reading that line, it reminded me of when I slept off of the wine in the past, I'd wake up from a drunken stupor with the WTF? panic attack and my heart pounding away. The craving is now gone with THAT thought. Thank you for posting. I needed a reality check.
