Day 8: checking in
Hi all,
Just checking in on day 8. I feel fine and am doing pretty well. Work is exhausting, and I can feel the pull of alcohol a bit. I'm not sure why, but I do find myself wanting to drink when I'm tired. Can others relate to that? It seems counterintuitive as it makes me sleepy.
But instead, I'll have a good dinner (I'm having ribs, too, Jeremy), watch Downton Abbey with my honey and go to bed early. I have to travel next week for work, which has me a bit nervous, but if I can not drink over the holidays with my family around I can do anything !!

Go Matilda. Well done on another good day.
For me the being tired and alcohol association was mostly a habit of debriefing and socializing after the day's burst of mental energy expenditure. I also found that if I finish my day of work dehydrated then my brain invariably scans an inventory of 'old haunts' as I make the transition from work to relax. Fizzay-water! Thanks for sharing your day.
