Please go Aistar, I was in your position last week. I felt it a daunting thought. I went and I really enjoyed it. I got a lot from it.
I then thought to myself, "Why did you worry?"
Is there anyone that would go with you?

I hear ya. I think if you've made the decision to go just get yourself there. Make it a priority. I had my first on Sunday, was wracked with nerves all afternoon, found the meeting itself overwhelming & I came out feeling raw. But welcomed. And relieved I'd made the leap.
No need to participate either. Good luck!

Hi Aistar,
A good thing about it is everyone knows the feeling of their first meeting. Most all of us were terrified. Just Go. Sit and listen. That's all that is required of you. If you feel the need to share, do! As you continue to go there you'll find your story is much the same as many others, believe it or not. No one will hear anything that shocks them. We all have similarities and that is what will help you to connect. I felt the same as you do now. Today, I actually crave a meerting instead of a drink. A much better habit in my mind. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

I was more terrified about the possibility of going to jail and hurting someone else when drinking.......
AA turned out to be a relief from that stress! It truly is the easier, softer way.
You'll be fine, good for you on taking action!
