89 days and PAWS?

I really didn't think I would go through a hellacious emotional roller coaster ride at just about 3 months sober. It's just overwhelming sometimes at what I'm going through (granted I have situational stuff with my job and still working thru the grief from my son's death).

Can anyone else relate? I'm sure there are tons of threads, which I'll do a search on...

- Sleep impairment. I can fall asleep, but I wake up every hour, then fall back asleep.
- Feeling insecure about everything. What's that all about?
- Weird, obsessive, rigid thinking.
- Creative thinking shut down
- Strange dreams WHEN I actually sleep
- Hurt feelings not based in reality
- Short fuse
- Dizzy sometimes, clumsy

The good news is, I have almost zero anxiety. Very rarely do I get panic attacks. I no longer feel phobic either. I would say that I'm back to normal from all accounts.

BWT I've had a full work up by my primary Dr, cardiologist and GI drs. I'm as healthy as they come.

Hi SarahB-- sounds like PAWS to me. You just need more practice living sober -- it will get easier!

Congratulations on 89 days!

Closing in on 3 months myself and still feeling the paws. Some symptoms have lifted, others have changed. Still having trouble stumbling through a few conversations, but oh well, Im still healing.

Keep up the good work and keep us posted!

congrats on almost 90!!!!!

I faced many of PAWS symptoms, and while it is tough, these annoying emotions will slowly fade away. you will grow way past this. but give it more time!!

and know what you are going through is perfectly normal. you will be so much better when you get through this1

Took a good few months for my body to adjust, physically/emotionally/mentally!!

Healing years of drinking is going to take time, hang in there!!

Ugh, I am still experiencing PAWS now! That sleeping thing you described has been happening to me for some weeks now. When will it stop?!?!?

Awesome on the 90 days! I'm right there with ya on the symptoms, but like others said they do improve over time. Progress not perfection!

I can definitely relate to some of those.
Some days I don't feel like I can think that well. I sometimes feel like I have a short fuse as well. I think it's just going to take time though.
