Looking for help...
Hello all, I am new here and I am in need of some help. Let me tell you a little about my situation. I am 23 years old, I have been a heroin addict for 5 years now. I have had some clean time in those years. I went to a traditional 12 step rehab at the end of 2013 and completed that program and had about 6 months of clean time after that. Unfourtnetly, I have relapsed and I need to find a good detox/rehab facility. I want to find one that is preferably non-12 step. Since I have been through that program and I just don't believe it works for me. I am someone who is very into spirituality (not religious) and mindfulness. I currently live in the north western part of Pennsylvania, so I would like to find somewhere that is relatively close, I would be willing to go to New York, Ohio, other parts of PA. I do have insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield. So please, if you have any ideas or recommendations of some facilities, I would be so grateful.
Hi cookamunga, I can't be of much help for programmes your way, just wanted to welcome you to our forum.
I know this forum has some good resources, I'm sure someone will be along with information for you.

Hi cookamunga
This is a good place to start maybe?
https://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/Tre...ickSearch.jspx
click your state - give as specific an address (or as vague) as you like and you'll get lots of local area hits.
if you hit the select services button you can further refine your results that way

Hi cookamunga, I have a different insurance company than you but when I was looking for treatment I called the phone number that's listed on my insurance card for mental health and substance abuse treatment. The rep I spoke to was really helpful and I was able to get a list of facilities that took my insurance and then research them from there. I wanted to start out by narrowing down a list of places that took my insurance because I didn't want to waste any time getting info about (or getting excited about) places that I wouldn't be able to go to because my insurance didn't cover them. If you don't want to speak to anyone, BCBS probably has a website that you can log onto and search for providers. That's just how I did it... Just another option for you. Good luck!
