I'm new to posting
Hello. I've tried to quit drinking a bunch of times. I can't seem to stay quit. I've lurked on this forum off and on and finally decided it's time to join. I need to do something different, and making myself accountable by signing up and typing I am an Alcoholic and I need to quit drinking.
I am an Alcoholic and I need to quit drinking.

Thank you both.
It's snowing...again. Oh well, spring must come eventually.
I'm ready, just not sure I'm able. Honestly, what's it going to take? It's not even like I enjoy drinking. I sure don't enjoy the shame and remorse.

Hi and welcome.
The simple answer is: if we don’t pick up the first drink we won’t have to TRY to get sober AGAIN. Didn’t say it’s easy but as millions have shown it’s attainable.
I suggest AA meetingS of which there are hundreds per day in your area and have helped millions get and stay sober. This site is a big help with some with AA background offering help also.
This disease is powerful, cunning, baffling and insidious, it will blindside us in a flash and we will wonder where did that come from?
It takes work and change within our self to sustain sobriety but it’s certainly within reach.
BE WELL

Thank you. Insidious is right. Who in their right mind would like to feel like this? Just worthless. I know it will pass, but I just need to feel like I'm doing something to combat this. Yes, there are meetings next to where I work pretty much every day. I used to belong to a local group but just stopped going one day. Bad idea. I need to dust off the meeting schedules.
